Turramurra High School (THS) Community Collaborating With Others

Kissing Point Football Club

The THS community & Kissing Point Football Club (KPFC) are working on a number of opportunities to collaborate.

There is a high correlation of the members of both communities and also the local primary schools that feed into the THS community.

The collaborations being explored broadly falls into four areas...

Social

The KPFC club house is a place of community gathering.

Work / Service

Duke of Ed, catering opportunities for the THS Community canteen.

Facilities

Sharing facilities, a sense of ownership in the younger members of the community - "this is our club/space"

Learning

Exploring learning opportunities within the club at all levels - see collaborating with others.

Current initiatives...

Social

Pursuing opportunities to use the 'Kisso Clubhouse' as a gathering place for the community.

Work / Service

The Club currently provides opportunities for students to complete their work/service obligations that are part of the Duke Of Ed program. We are looking at other work/commerce opportunities, including the potential for the THS Community Canteen to provide catering.

Facilities

We are exploring whether THS sports facilities can be made available to the wider community, particularly for the 3PM to 6PM time slot - this could also include discussions with the NSFA and beyond.

Learning

We are also investigating how Club activities can link to learning opportunities, for example photography, journalism, coaching, referring, playing and assisting. Each of these activities is being aligned with the THS Community learning framework as per the THS Community's Collaboration with Others guide.

Generally we will work together to promote opportunities within each of the communities/organisations.
