HOW WE RUN PROJECTS
We use a standard project management process from start to finish to run the project - it works hand-in-hand with how we design changes to the THS environment.
We use similar philosophies of the original school construction, using divide-and-conquer and in-parallel tasks.
Generally we ...
1. Engage with project leaders
2. Do the conceptual design with students, uni students, teachers, parents, community, school leadership group
3. Break up the project into digestible chunks
4. Start on the base layer (the boring bit)
5. Project leaders start on detailed design while the base is being prepared
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Once we have defined (designed) the project and all key stakeholders have approved it we move into the implementation phase.
We break this phase into two key parts; the "foundation/closed layer" that requires expert services due the risks/skills involved and the "open layer" that can be done by the community.
eg for a large landscaping project we use experts to do the drainage, base preparation and then as a community we an focus on everything that goes on top of the prepared base.
